Park Eun-Seon

Hong Yoon-Sun
Abstract
This study investigated the art therapists' current situation, perception, and satisfaction level of post-graduate supervision including art-based supervision. A total of 87 responses were analysed with SPSS 19.0 for frequency, %, X2, and t-test as well as content-analysis for descriptive responses. According to the results, most of the respondents were under supervision after graduation, for 60-90 minutes per session, less than twice a month. Their supervisors were mostly female, aged 40-59 with above-doctorate degrees and more than 10 years of experience. The respondents believed supervision to be essential, beneficial, and satisfactory, and considered it a learning experience. Many of the respondents experienced art-based supervision. Most frequently utilized tool was therapist's artworks made outside of session, which seemed to help exploring the therapist's unconscious thoughts and feelings such as transference and countertransferene. The results were discussed referring to previous studies, and suggestions for future study were presented.
